My name is Sophia Morton, I grew up in a small town on Vancouver Island, and I’m traditionally from the Kwakwakil’wak nation. I’m currently studying mining engineering at UBC, and in my free time I volunteer with the Engineering Undergraduate Society at UBC, and build rockets with my design team Thunderbird Aerospace. In the future, I hope to work in the mining industry improving indigenous land relations, and underground mine construction.
