Maadootziisiniig/Rhaya Clyne (she/they) is a third year student at Brock University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with minors in Indigenous Studies and Women and Gender Studies. They are working towards a career where they can combine their passions for social justice and mental health and make an impact on their community. With the ever changing landscape of the mental health field, she cannot wait to see where her career will take her. Originally from Mississauga, Ontario, Rhaya has had the privilege of getting involved with Indigenous cultural events since high school. Some of her formative life events have included culture camps where she has had the chance to reconnect with the land and learn from knowledge keepers and elders. Her family has been extremely disconnected from their Indigenous roots due to decades of colonialism, therefore Rhaya has made it her goal to work at reclaiming culture whenever she can. Beyond academics, Rhaya is a lover of the arts and a huge theatre nerd. They enjoy participating in community theatre productions, painting, drawing, beading, and being creative whenever they have the chance.
