Mieke Vink is passionate about BC’s mining industry, including its opportunities to not only create economic prosperity, but also the associated career opportunities for an increasingly diverse pool of mining professionals. With technical expertise rooted in her B.Sc. in Geographical Sciences, Mieke is a natural generalist who sees connections between places, people, and opportunities. During her 6 years in the mining industry, Mieke has amassed diverse experience from both a mining development and consulting context. She applies her experience to support the strategic planning and implementation of projects, specializing in Indigenous and community relations. 

Mieke is proud of her work in the BC’s mining industry promoting social, economic, and environmental sustainability. Throughout her career, she has forged strong remote and rural community partnerships by spearheading engagement initiatives and facilitating the integration of Indigenous values early on in project planning. During her tenure at Skeena Gold + Silver, she leveraged her years of experience in training and program development to co-develop and manage Skeena’s Tahltan Mentorship Program. The program prepares young Tahltan professionals for management roles by developing their technical skills and facilitating their participation in Tahltan communities, culture, and governance. Mieke strongly believes opportunities like these, that support community capacity development and the next generation of industry leaders, are central to unlocking the industry’s potential. 

In 2024, Mieke joined One-eighty Consulting Group Inc. (one-eighty) as a Senior Coordinator. One-eighty is a regulatory affairs consulting firm that specializes in helping companies advance mineral properties and other resource assets toward permitting and development in a timely, cost-efficient, and reputation-enhancing way. At one-eighty, Mieke is part of a growing team of highly experienced professionals, applying her experience and knowledge to create conditions for success on multiple projects. 

Mieke is an advocate for young professionals in the mining industry and is passionate about promoting diversity within the mining sector. Her dedication extends beyond regular office hours in her role on the Centre of Training Excellence in Mining (CTEM) Advisory Council.
