Matthew (Matt) Singerman is Chair of Clark Wilson’s Indigenous Business & Economic Development Group and is also a member of the Commercial Real Estate and Family Office Groups. 

In advising his First Nations clients on a range of real estate, business and governance matters, Matt leads with insight, clarity, and a deep understanding of how different legal structures support their economic growth, sustainable progress, and community values. He works alongside First Nations, their economic development corporations, and their business partners to structure transactions, ventures, governance models and projects that reflect long-term strategic goals, advance community interests, and respect the context within which they operate. 

Drawing on his previous experience as general counsel at one of British Columbia’s leading full-service development, design and construction service providers, as well as one of Canada’s leading builder-developers, and with almost 20 years of legal experience, Matt brings a business-first approach to his work. He advises on acquisitions, dispositions, financings, joint ventures, and the planning and execution of real estate and related projects across all asset classes and jurisdictions. Known for his agility, pragmatism, and collaborative style, Matt helps clients navigate complex transactions and business decisions with a clear understanding of how legal choices reverberate across operations, governance, and relationships.
