Marcela Mandeville is a seasoned strategic leader with over two decades of experience in international business, entrepreneurship, and economic development. Known for her collaborative spirit and strategic mindset, Marcela works with organizations to unlock inclusive economic growth, elevate diverse voices, and build resilient, innovation-driven ecosystems. Growing up with a father from Salt River First Nation and a mother from Mexico City in a small francophone community, she lived in a mixture of cultures and ideas that built a foundation to create space for underrepresented entrepreneurs and changemakers to thrive locally and globally.  

Previously serving as CEO of Alberta Women Entrepreneurs (AWE), Marcela collaborated with teams and partners to expand access to capital, mentorship, and education for women in business, shift the narrative around women’s economic participation, and amplify the critical role of equity in innovation and growth. Under her leadership, AWE delivered transformative programs and services that supported thousands of entrepreneurs and positioned the organization as a national thought leader in inclusive entrepreneurship.  

A strong advocate for community leadership, Marcela has served on multiple boards and advisory groups, including Women’s Entrepreneur Organization of Canada (WEOC), Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT) Alberta, Edmonton Economic Development Corporation, Explore Edmonton, Alberta Innovates, Works for Women, and the University of Alberta School of Business Advisory Council. Her global perspective is rooted in her academic background in international business as well as her lived experience navigating diverse cultures and business landscapes. 

Marcela remains committed to building equitable systems that honour diverse perspectives and create shared prosperity. She believes in the power of connection, culture, and courage to transform communities—and her work reflects that belief at every level.
