Katie Skelton is Anishinaabe kwe and a member of Henvey Inlet First Nation, living on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), and səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples. As the Senior Director of the San’yas Indigenous-Specific Anti-Racism training program, Katie employs a strengths-based approach that centers the self-determination of Indigenous Peoples in the face of settler-colonialism. In this role, Katie advances Indigenous-specific anti-racism across multiple sectors—developing practical tools, facilitating learning journeys, and fostering environments that uphold Indigenous rights, knowledge, and ways of being. 

With over a decade of experience in the health sector, Katie has helped shape initiatives that promote Indigenous cultural safety and well-being. She holds an MBA from SFU Beedie’s Indigenous Business Leadership Executive program and is committed to systemic change through education, collaboration, and action.
