Warren MacPhail is a member of the Siksika Nation of Treaty 7. Warren has 3 decades of experience in the oil and gas and energy transition sectors, having worked across western and arctic Canada and in the US on oil and gas exploration, field development, and technology development and commercialization. After graduating from Dalhousie University (physics) and from the University of Calgary (mechanical engineering) Warren started his career with Imperial Oil and then moved to Devon Canada for 20 years before spending two years at an oilfield services firm.

As Executive VP of Engineering and Chief Operating Officer at Reconciliation Energy Transition Inc. (RETI), for the last two years Warren has been supporting RETI’s energy transition projects and is principally focused on leading the planning work for the East Calgary Region Carbon Sequestration Hub, which will enter service in 2025 and will eventually permanently sequester up to an estimated 10 million tonnes of CO2 per year.
