Veronica Guido is the Director of Indigenous Partnerships & Strategies at Mohawk Medbuy (MMC). She is a lawyer focused in Aboriginal law, with a law degree (JD) from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, and a Masters of Law (LLM) from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, where her original research explored Anishinaabe legal orders in the duty to consult. Prior to joining MMC in 2022, Veronica practiced criminal law where she worked exclusively with Indigenous women navigating the criminal justice system and safe exiting from human trafficking with the Ontario Native Women’s Association. Veronica’s legal background also includes roles at the Ontario Ministry of Indigenous Affairs’ Legal Services Branch, Aboriginal Legal Services Toronto, and the Chippewas of Rama First Nation – giving her unique insight into government and community issues. She is non-status First Nation on her mother’s side, who is Anishinaabe from Nipigon Lake in Northern Ontario, and Haudenosaunee from Oka Territory in Quebec. In her free time, she writes fiction, travels the world, and teaches yoga.
