Meet Tyler!
Biography
Tyler Mitchell is an accomplished Indigenous relations professional and community leader who is passionate about promoting environmental stewardship, economic reconciliation, emergency management capacity building, and education equity for Indigenous communities. Tyler is a proud member of the Cowessess First Nation (Treaty 4) and an advocate for preserving Indigenous cultural traditions and teachings.
Drawing from his deep knowledge of Saulteaux and Cree cultures, Tyler has a strong foundation to support his work as an Indigenous Relations Practitioner. He holds a undergraduate degree in Indigenous Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility from the University of Lethbridge and has used this education to elevate his career and bring value to various organizations and major projects in western Canada.
Tyler is currently pursuing an Executive Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) graduate degree specializing in Leadership and Indigenous Business at Simon Fraser University.
Tyler has worked tirelessly to promote environmental stewardship and sustainability within Indigenous communities throughout western Canada ensuring that Indigenous voices are heard in important discussions and decisions. He has also been a champion for economic reconciliation, recognizing the importance of supporting Indigenous businesses and entrepreneurs in achieving their goals.
Throughout his career, Tyler has been an ambassador of Indigenous rights, bringing awareness to the unique challenges and opportunities facing Indigenous communities. His leadership in bridging the gap between Industry and Indigenous communities has earned respect and admiration from the communities and organizations he has represented
