Tyler is a lawyer with MLT Aikins LLP in Calgary, where he advises Indigenous‑owned businesses, entrepreneurs, and partnership entities on corporate, commercial, and governance matters.

His practice focuses on supporting Indigenous‑led economic development through business structuring, joint ventures, financing arrangements, and risk allocation. Tyler regularly works with Indigenous entrepreneurs and leadership teams on forming and scaling businesses, negotiating commercial agreements, and building governance frameworks that are practical and aligned with community objectives.

Tyler is Métis and a citizen of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government in Alberta.

Before entering law, Tyler was a varsity basketball player with the University of Calgary Dinos. He remains connected to the program and acts as a mentor to current Dinos basketball student‑athletes, drawing on his experience in high‑performance sport, leadership, and career transition.
