Trina Maher, a member of Mattagami First Nation, is the President and Chief Creative Spirit of Bridging Concepts, an Indigenous human resources consultancy with the vision to see ‘Indigenous peoples enjoy meaningful careers in Canadian workplaces.’ Since 1999, Trina has been helping people and ideas connect to accelerate Indigenous workplace inclusion for the private and public sector across numerous industries throughout Canada. She is known for her customized and practical strategies that help organizations to foster productive partnerships with Indigenous communities to effectively hire, retain and advance Indigenous talent. Trina is also well known in Canada as an Indigenous career development thought leader who has advised on national labour-market research studies and has provided career coaching facilitator’s training to Indigenous agencies in every province and territory. She is also a member of the national council for the development of Canada’s Career Development Practitioner Centre launched in 2023.
Trina is an advisor for the Canadian Aboriginal Human Resource Management Association and a member of the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business. Trina is an Adult Educator (Brock University), an internationally certified classroom trainer through CompTIA, a Master Level Trainer of Active Engagement/Hope-Filled Engagement/Guiding Circles internationally, and a True Colors International Facilitator. She is an alumnus of Robin Sharma’s Leadership International programs including Lead Without a Title, Personal Mastery Academy, and the Titan Summits. She is also an alumni of the GREAT Traits Corporate Leadership Program designed by Canadian Olympians Mark Tewksbury and Debbie Muir.
