Tim Laronde

National Director, Indigenous Strategies
Chandos Construction

Meet Tim:

Tim is Anishinaabe from Nipissing First Nation, located in the Robinson Huron Treaty area. He has worked in the business services industry for more than 25 years with experience in business development, negotiation strategies and building capacity through meaningful and respectful relationships with the Indigenous community. He made the move into the construction industry as he saw an opportunity to create wealth in communities and collaborate with Nations on their journey towards self determination. As the National Director, Indigenous Strategies with Chandos Construction, Tim’s mandate involves building capacity with Indigenous communities by increasing Indigenous procurement and enhancing Indigenous talent. Tim is passionate about sharing Indigenous history and values through cultural awareness discussions, presentations and speaking engagements.

Tim served as the Secretary Treasurer for the Anishnawbe Health Foundation, in Toronto, and has been a Board member since 2018. He served on the Board of Directors for Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business and was a Community Trustee with the Nipissing 2013 Boundary Claim Trust where he continues to volunteer with his community. Tim successfully completed the AFOA Harvard Business School program – Leading People and Investing to Build Sustainable Communities and shares his experience with Indigenous communities. In 2023 he was honoured with a seat on the Board of Directors for Kindred Works, a company addressing housing challenges and climate change. Tim’s advocacy extends to championing wealth creation for Indigenous peoples and supporting Indigenous women in leadership roles and trades. His enduring passion lies in giving back to and empowering Indigenous communities through knowledge sharing and mentorship opportunities.
