Teagan is Métis with historic roots from Northern Lake Superior stemming from her paternal side. Teagan is of Scottish heritage (Clan MacMillan) on her mother’s side. She currently attends Trent University, enrolled in the Indigenous Bachelor of Education program. Teagan previously graduated from the University of Toronto where she completed a specialization in Indigenous Studies and a double minor in Political Science and Religion. Teagan is passionate about Indigenous Studies and incorporating Indigenous Knowledges into all facets of life and levels of education. Teagan works with Indigenous youth to build this generation to be the change makers of today. Teagan is also an avid jigger (dancer), facilitating workshops on music and dance as ways to continue and resurge Métis traditions and identities.
