Ryan Tuomi is a seasoned professional with a deep-rooted connection to Northern Ontario. Born and raised in Thunder Bay, he has cultivated strong relationships with First Nations communities throughout the region. His collaborative approach to development is grounded in respect for Indigenous ways of knowing and a commitment to meaningful engagement.

Prior to joining Wyloo, Ryan served as a Regional Land Use Geologist and Senior Policy Advisor at the Ontario Ministry of Mines. His experience includes advising on large-scale regional planning under the Far North Act and leading consultations for the Ontario Far North Electoral Boundaries Commission. His efforts resulted in the creation of two new ridings: Kiiwetinoong and Mushkegowuk.

Ryan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from Lakehead University, providing a strong foundation for his work in the mining and resource sector. Additionally, he has been a dedicated mentor, serving as a lead judge for the Northwestern Ontario Regional Science Fair for the past decade.

Throughout his career, Ryan’s ability to build trust and foster collaboration with Indigenous communities has been instrumental in his success. By prioritizing Indigenous perspectives and working in partnership with First Nations communities, Ryan has helped to advance projects that are both sustainable and culturally relevant.
