Richard is a seasoned professional Metis with global experience in energy projects. He has led operations, business development and corporate initiatives, with an emphasis on Indigenous community engagement and impact. His experience includes work in five countries with numerous Indigenous, corporate, and government stakeholders. Richard is a designated Project Management Professional (PMP) and is ICD.D certified. Richard is the president of Cascade Projects, an Indigenous-owned and controlled corporation. Cascade’s objective is to assist Canadian energy corporations and their contractors to achieve project and economic success though Indigenous Economic Inclusion.
As a proud member of the Métis community, he gives back to the Indigenous community and participates in several capacities including: serving as Board Member for Apeetogosan Development Inc.; an Aboriginal Financial Institution that provides financial services and support to Indigenous entrepreneurs. Additionally, Richard is on the Indigenous Advisory board for Parks Canada and a Member for Circle for Aboriginal Relations.
In the spirit of respect, reciprocity and truth, we honour and acknowledge Moh’kinsstis, and the traditional Treaty 7 territory and oral practices of the Blackfoot confederacy: Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, as well as the Îyâxe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina nations.
