Empowering Indigenous Economies
Forward Summit is an Indigenous-led, multi-day conference dedicated to advancing economic partnerships, discovering opportunities for change and supporting national relationships between Canada’s industry leaders and Indigenous Communities.
Forward Summit seeks to assist in the fulfillment of Recommendation #92 of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s Calls to Action, which specifically calls on the corporate sector.
The first inaugural Forward Summit took place on February 26 – 28, 2019 and was strongly supported by Indigenous communities and businesses across Canada. The summit included 535 attendees, 100+ speakers and a sold-out exhibition floor. Over 40 Indigenous communities were represented at Forward Summit and countless Indigenous and non-Indigenous businesses gathered to educate and collaborate on the current and future landscape.
Beyond a hub for important, national conversations on economic reconciliation to take place, Forward Summit offers a unique format that uncovers, prioritizes and implements new initiatives based on the valuable conversations introduced throughout the event.
