Nadine Bernard is the award-winning Founder and CEO of Indigevisor Ltd., an Indigenous-owned consulting firm based in We’koqma’q, Unama’ki (Cape Breton, NS). With over twenty-five years of experience in Indigenous relations, Nadine specializes in Indigenous engagement and procurement, guiding organizations in developing communication strategies and Indigenous Benefit plans for infrastructure projects. Her expertise spans Indigenous NGOs, across all levels of government, with a strong focus on diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism Initiatives. She has led and contributed to projects across the public and private sectors, including infrastructure builds totaling over $1.4 billion. Her work ensures Mi’kmaw and Indigenous perspectives are embedded from vision to implementation.  

Nadine champions initiatives that bring positive change to Mi’kmaq communities and beyond. Her dedication to Indigenous entrepreneurship is demonstrated by her roles as a Board Member of the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Nova Scotia Chapter, a co-rep on the National Board for Indigenous Health Reconciliation and as a past co-chair of the Tribe Network’s Board of Directors, where she supports BIPOC entrepreneurs across Atlantic Canada. Her commitment to advancing broader societal progress through the empowerment of Indigenous people is at the heart of her work. 

Educationally, Nadine holds degrees in Mi’kmaq Studies and Business from Cape Breton University, and in Aboriginal Leadership and Indigenous Women in Community Leadership from the Coady Institute at St. FX. She is also an active facilitator of the Kairos Blanket Exercise. As a proud mother of three grown children and grandmother of two, Nadine’s leadership and passion for uplifting Indigenous communities make her a truly remarkable figure.
