Kaitlyn is a Mohawk woman from Kenhtè:ke (Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory), a member of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte, and sits with the Wolf Clan. She is the Advisor of Indigenous Engagement with the Toronto Police Service Board. In this role, she works directly with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people in Tkaronto (Toronto). From youth to Elders, Knowledge Carriers to Treaty and Territorial Rightsholders, she works to ensure Indigenous voices and experiences are prioritized in the Board’s efforts and initiatives.   

Her work is about more than policies and reports, it’s about relationships. Grounded in the calls of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls, and local reports like Missing and Missed, Kaitlyn helps build bridges between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in effort to build relationships of understanding. She focuses on creating spaces rooted in reciprocity, respect, and community safety, so that Indigenous voices shape decisions that impact their lives and futures.
