Jonathon L. Mitchell is a respected Indigenous relations leader, governance advisor, and economic reconciliation advocate with more than a decade of experience supporting Indigenous communities, governments, and entrepreneurs across Canada. His work centers on strengthening Indigenous sovereignty through transparent governance, financial stewardship, procurement reform, and long‑term economic development.

Jonathon currently serves as Director of Indigenous Relations & Procurement at the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA), where he leads provincial strategies to expand Indigenous entrepreneurship, advance Indigenous procurement, and build meaningful partnerships between suppliers, Nations, and the public sector. His leadership directly contributes to economic reconciliation by creating sustainable pathways for Indigenous businesses to participate in major public‑sector supply chains.

He is also the Vice President of the Board of Directors for All Nations Trust Company, an Indigenous‑owned financial institution supporting entrepreneurship, lending, and community economic growth throughout British Columbia. In 2026, Jonathon was appointed to the Board of Directors of OneFeather, a national Indigenous technology and digital sovereignty company advancing secure Indigenous identity, data governance, and community empowerment.

In addition to his public‑sector and governance roles, Jonathon is the Owner and Principal Consultant of Sumix Consulting, a boutique Indigenous‑owned firm providing hands‑on advisory services in governance, financial administration, strategic planning, procurement, and community development. Sumix Consulting works directly with Indigenous governments, organizations, and entrepreneurs to strengthen transparency, sustainability, and economic opportunity.

Jonathon’s previous leadership roles include Deputy Director of Operations for Westbank First Nation, overseeing Finance and Community Services for nearly 90 staff, and Senior Manager of Indigenous Services at MNP, where he delivered strategic planning, governance training, financial advisory, and community engagement services. Earlier, as Purchasing Manager for Westbank First Nation, he built the Purchasing Department, implemented comprehensive policies and procedures, and created a Social Procurement program that strengthened member entrepreneurship and employment.

Jonathon holds an MBA in Indigenous Business and Leadership from Simon Fraser University, where his capstone focused on Indigenous‑owned energy projects and economic reconciliation. He is a CAFM Candidate with the Aboriginal Finance Officers Association (exam prep completion expected winter 2026) and earned his SCMP Designation from Supply Chain Canada, where he was nominated valedictorian.
