Kwe/Hello! My name is Harmony Bright-Doucette, and I am from We’koqma’q First Nation in Mi’kma’ki. I am currently in the Bachelor of Arts and Science in Health program at St. Francis Xavier University. This degree is multidisciplinary and has shown me different ways of viewing health. It strongly aligns with my career aspirations of being a doctor. I have always wanted to be in the field of medicine since I was a young girl. It started off with being fascinated with the science of how our bodies work and function. As I got older, I started to see the external factors that can influence our health and well-being. I plan to go back to my community and practice medicine there. Community members have been uplifting and motivating on my journey so far. I am so excited to be part of the Forward Summit for the first time!
