Gillian is a visitor in Treaty 7 Territory, Region 3 of the Métis Nation in Alberta, in Calgary with her partner and two young children. Gillian is the Director, People and Community, at Enhance Energy, an Alberta-based carbon utilization and storage company with extensive experience in the planning and implementation of large-scale carbon capture and utilization projects that permanently sequester CO2 emissions. In her role, Gillian leads all people, community and Indigenous engagement strategies. An important part of her role is establishing and maintaining positive communications, relationships and outreach with Indigenous communities, and in supporting Enhance’s journey in Reconciliation. As a settler doing this work, Gillian is committed to listening and learning, to respond sensitively and appropriately to community needs.

Gillian brings experience from the energy industry, the non-profit world, and small to mid-size growth organizations, focusing her work on people and community impact. Gillian holds a Masters of Business Administration as well as a Certificate in Social Impact from Queens University. She is a leader in her community, recognized with awards for her philanthropic leadership, impact on the Energy industry, and her innovative approaches to Human Resources. She lives her commitment to advancing an equitable and inclusive society for all equity-deserving groups, serving as a Board Director with the Calgary Public Library, Past President for Ask Her YYC, and as a coach for Fora’s Young Women on Boards program.
