Francis Archibald has dedicated his career to promoting and protecting the values of Apitipi Anicinapek Nation (ANN). He lives ANN’s values of Community, Leadership, Well-being, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. As General Manager of Apitipi Resources LP (ARLP), Francis’ vision and tireless efforts have helped turn this economic development arm of AAN into the vibrant, growing company it is today. 

Since stepping into the leadership role at ARLP, Francis has made a significant impact in three short years. Francis oversaw the company name change from Wahgoshig Resources Inc. this past spring to reflect that of the company’s home community Apitipi Anicinapek Nation. Further, Francis negotiated the purchase of Peter Bodick Trucking, now Apitipi Anicinapek Trucking, as well as Cheminis Lumber under the Black Diamond Forestry banner. ARLP also does business in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt via its third subsidiary, Black Diamond Drilling. ARLP provides services as part of several joint venture partnerships as well. Most recently, ARLP formed a partnership with Hancon Mining Division Inc. to launch Apitipi Hancon LP, the area’s newest mine development company – and the only one to offer both surface and underground mine development. 

Previously, Francis was Manager of Bizhiki Management, owner of Cre-ation consulting firm, and President and CEO of Apitisawin Employment and Training along with other advisory/consulting positions. Francis also sat on the Abitibi River Forest Management Inc. Board of Directors.
