Elizabeth has been inspired by the simplicity and the power of nature, and by a profound respect for First Nations around the globe, which has influenced her professional and personal values. She truly believes in an inclusive society and in the empowerment of marginalized and underrepresented groups as key components for the well-being of our society and the preservation of our environment. 

Passionate and dedicated environmental educator and impact entrepreneur with more than 15 years of experience leading social enterprises, developing, and implementing environmental educational programs and community / school gardens in Canada and Mexico. She holds a University of Calgary Master’s degree in Sustainable Energy Development, a certified Lab-Technician and Soil Biology Advisor, Permaculture, and Ecosystem Restauration-trained by Dr. Elain Ingham Soil Food Web School.  

Currently and as part of her social enterprise at Ciclomanias, she developed the First Nations Zero Waste Ambassador Program in partnership with First Nations Technical Services Advisory Group Inc. The program is designed specifically for First Nations’ K-12 grade students and teachers to minimize waste generation and to complement their curriculum through storytelling, upcycling, gardening and making organic soil amendments. She works in close collaboration with Elders and teachers of culture and language to support food sovereignty and food security, waste prevention and diversion practices rooted on Traditional Ecological Knowledge and values.
