Biography

Passioned and dedicated environmental educator and impact entrepreneur with more than 15 years of experience leading social enterprises, developing, and implementing strategic sustainable programs in Canada and Mexico. Proven ability to build strong relationships with a diversity of stakeholders including partnerships with Indigenous communities, Non-profit organizations, Elementary schools, The University of Calgary and as a business owner of Ciclomanias and Board of Directors at Nature’s Ride and Goodwill. Currently and as part of her social enterprise at Ciclomanias, she developed the First Nations Zero Waste Ambassador Program in partnership with First Nations Technical Services Advisory Group Inc. The program is designed specifically for First Nations’ K-12 grade students and teachers to minimize waste generation and to complement their curriculum through storytelling, upcycling recyclables, gardening and making organic fertilizer using earth worms. In close collaboration with Elders and teachers of culture and language the program focuses on waste diversion practices and to learn from the traditional indigenous knowledge about the power of healing with plants, native plants used for culinary purposes and regenerative practices.
