Donovan Praymayer

Engineering Student

Schulich School of Engineering, University of Calgary

Meet Donovan:

Donovan Praymayer has family ties to Fond du Lac, SK and For Chipewyan, AB. The son of an Indigenous engineer and 60s Scoop survivor, Donovan is in his second year of engineering and one of the first cohort in the Schulich School of Engineering Indigenous Pathways Program. After 10 years in the culinary arts, Donovan decided to follow in his parents’ footsteps towards an engineering degree. In addition to his leadership experience in the restaurant industry, Donovan had the opportunity to work at Enbridge Inc. in Calgary, Alberta over the summer in 2023. He is interested in pursuing a mechanical engineering degree and increasing Indigenous representation in the STEM fields with the University of Calgary club: Calgary Indigenous STEAM Students Association. He is also the proud father of a seven-year-old daughter, Elaina, and 2 cats, Buju and Nova.
