I am currently pursuing my teaching degree at Trent University, where I am building on both my academic journey and my deep commitment to community care. My passion for education is rooted in the belief that inclusive, supportive classrooms can shape the next generation of leaders and changemakers. I strive to create learning environments where all students feel valued, seen, and empowered to reach their full potential. Before entering the teaching field, I worked extensively in my Indigenous community in social work, gaining experience in areas such as child and youth support, homelessness prevention, and anti-human trafficking initiatives. This work allowed me to engage with some of the most pressing challenges facing young people and families, while also grounding me in the importance of culturally informed and community-driven approaches. I learned the value of meeting people where they are, listening with care, and advocating for systems that uplift rather than marginalize. These experiences continue to shape my perspective as an educator-in-training. I bring forward not only professional skills in relationship-building and advocacy, but also a strong commitment to fostering belonging, resilience, and respect within every space I enter.”
