David has been a professional forester in Canada for over 20 years and has worked with industry, consultants, and government. David joined Finite Carbon from the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment where for three years he led climate and offset policy development as Director of Climate Change Policy and Programs. During that period David’s team developed an entire regulatory framework for management of greenhouse gases including an Act, four regulations and a series of standards. Prior to that David worked for ten years in a variety of roles with the Saskatchewan Forest Service. David led forest policy development, forest management planning, forest operations and compliance, and forest renewal. Before moving to Saskatchewan David work for KBM Forestry Consultants in Thunder Bay, Ontario supporting forest management planning and independent forest audits. David started his forestry career planting trees in northern Ontario and has worked in silviculture across Ontario and in the United States. David is a past President of the Saskatchewan Association of Forestry Professionals and currently sits on the Association’s Council. He is an active participant with the Canadian Institute of Forestry and the Society of American Foresters. David is a Registered Professional Forester in Saskatchewan and Alberta.
