Bobby Shott was born and raised in Fort McKay. This is his first term as a Fort McKay First Nation Councillor.
Prior to joining the Fort McKay First Nation governance team, Councillor Shott was a member of the Executive Team of the Fort McKay Group of Companies. With over 20 years of experience working in the oil sands and construction, he has advanced both independent business and community ventures. He led the sales and development initiatives across the organization, establishing relationships with industry that continue to grow the business for the betterment and prosperity of his community.
As a Fort McKay First Nation member, Councillor Shott is committed to securing opportunities for the First Nation that benefit the community and open career paths for members.
In the spirit of respect, reciprocity and truth, we honour and acknowledge Moh’kinsstis, and the traditional Treaty 7 territory and oral practices of the Blackfoot confederacy: Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, as well as the Îyâxe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina nations. We acknowledge that this territory is home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3 within the historical Northwest Métis homeland. Finally, we acknowledge all Nations who live, work and play on this land, and who honour and celebrate this territory.
