Meet Christine:

Christine Bajona is the VP at First Canadian Health in Ontario, and the Director of Human Resources for all it’s parent companies’ subsidiaries under The Spirit Healthcare Group in Manitoba. She plays a crucial role in driving business development with a focus on Indigenous recruitment and building strategic partnerships. With over 20 years of experience in human resources, she is dedicated in allyship to advancing Indigenous economic prosperity, and inclusion in both Indigenous and non-Indigenous organizations. 
 
Christine’s expertise includes compensation, benefits, performance management, and employee relations. As a trusted advisor to senior management, she is recognized for her ability to build lasting relationships and deliver exceptional results, particularly in Indigenous recruitment and leadership development. 
 
She holds a degree in Business and a post-graduate diploma in Human Resources Management from Guelph University and Humber College. An accredited Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) with the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA), Christine is also a strong advocate supporting DEIB initiatives for diversity and inclusion. 
 
Deeply passionate about service, Christine has a strong familial connection to First Nation communities, which heightens and inspires her advocacy for Indigenous rights and reconciliation. Her work is driven by empathy and a forward-thinking mindset, as she actively supports innovative work environments that prioritize inclusive policies and strategies. 
 
Christine views every opportunity—personal and professional—as a chance to positively impact her colleagues and community. Her commitment to supporting community-based organizations and professional associations underscores her dedication to fostering a more inclusive and equitable society.
