Meet Candace:

Candace Wasacase is a Cree and citizen of the Kahkewistahaw First Nation, Treaty 4 in Southern Saskatchewan. As an entrepreneur and advocate she has led some of Saskatchewan’s most iconic builds.
Candace was recognized by the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects (CASL) and Saskatchewan Association of Landscape Architects as an Honorary member in 2023 for her lead role in the multi-million-dollar revitalization of Wanuskewin Heritage Park and her understanding and commitment to upholding the spiritual values held by the land and honoring the spirit of reconciliation.
She formerly served as Fulbright Canada’s Director of the Honoring Nations Canada Program, Director of Indigenous Engagement and Senior Director of the Gordon Oakes Red Bear Student Center at the University of Saskatchewan. She also held roles within the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations, the Saskatoon Tribal Council, and the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies.
Candace is currently the operational lead for the new urban First Nation development, Kahkewistahâw Landing in Saskatoon and the CEO of the Manitou Asinîy-Iniskim-Tsa Xani Stone Center Inc. in Alberta.
