Bennett Woods is a proud Métis Nation of Ontario citizen from Region 7, with strong ancestral ties to the Georgian Bay area. He recently completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Guelph, with a focus on sustainable development. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and brings experience working in community development, economic development, and more. 

Bennett has served as the Regional Youth Representative for Region 7 on the Métis Nation of Ontario’s Youth Council, where he leads the council’s Finance and Economic Development portfolios. His passion for community driven development and economic sovereignty also guide his work with the Métis National Council, where he works as an Advisor in the Economic Development and Intergovernmental relations departments. Bennett enjoys advocating for the Métis Nation and contributing to projects at the national level. 

Outside of work, Bennett is an avid Harvester and outdoorsman who enjoys spending time on the water, fishing, and connecting with the land. His personal and professional experiences are rooted in a commitment to advancing Métis self-determination and building a strong future for the next generation.
