Biography

Aubrey-Anne Laliberte-Pewapisconias (she/her) is a nêhiyâskwew from Canoe Lake Cree Nation on Treaty 10 Territory and Little Pine First Nation on Treaty 6 Territory. Aubrey is a recent graduate from the University of Saskatchewan with her Bachelor of Commerce in Finance, an Indigenous Governance and Politics Certificate, and a Global Business Stream Certificate. Continuing her studies in her home territory, she is now pursuing her Master of Sustainability in Energy Security, as per her passion as an Indigenous Youth Advocate and Environmentalist. 
 
Her work extends beyond this through her time working for numerous Indigenous organizations such as Indigenous Clean Energy, and now with Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority and Tatâga Inc. She is also involved in various groups and committees such as the Indigenous Leadership Circle, the City of Saskatoon Indigenous Technical Advisory Group, and Canadian Roots Exchange’s Audit and Finance Committee.  
 
Furthering this and promoting collaboration with Indigenous Peoples in a clean energy future, she attended the UNFCCC COP27. Her passions have also led her to be in the first cohort of Generation Power, a previous National Ambassador of Hope with We Matter, and the previous National Student Director for Cando. Aubrey is now the Canadian Y20 Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction delegate where she will attend events in India this year to discuss policy with G20 members.
