Meet Angela!
Biography
Angela Grier M. Ed Counselling Psychology (Piikani/ Blackfoot) is a Registered Provisional Psychologist residing in her traditional territory Mohkinstsis (Calgary) and she also holds the Indigenous Initiatives Lead for the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association for its national office, as well as a the first Indigenous board member for the Parkland Institute. For over 25 years, Angela has been working and supporting First Nation/ Indigenous peoples and communities through direct and systemic experience including Indigenous psychology and counselling, Indigenous and child/ youth rights advocacy, adult education/ post-secondary, elected leadership, extensive executive experience, non-profit, public administration and Blackfoot ways of knowing. Her graduate research explored Indigenous Psychology from a Blackfoot experience and embodiment. Piiohsksoopanskii/ Sings Loudly Far Away, is a proud Piikan First Nation member, a mother of four and a grandmother to Meadow.
