Senior Operations Manager
Alexandra is a Senior Consultant and Operations Manager with Mokwateh. Alexandra is a proud Cree woman from Norway House Cree Nation. She is a proven leader and brings an extensive background in project management and operations that is founded in Indigenous ways of knowledge and a strong lens on Reconciliation.
Throughout her diverse career, Alexandra was instrumental in the development of the Norway House Cree Nation Health Centre of Excellence, developing a new and innovative approach to community-based project management through Indigenous self-devolution and self-governance. In addition to leading a $100M capital infrastructure project, Alexandra was critical in the management of a large community Health Division and the development of a Health Transformation Strategy for the community. By forging partnerships with the Federal, Provincial, Municipal, and post-secondary institutions, she worked towards building meaningful and sustainable partnerships and programming that furthered Indigenous governance and reconciliation with Industry partners.
With Alexandra’s leadership of the construction of the Norway House Cree Nation Health Centre of Excellence, she was able to lead a new and innovative approach to Supply Chain and Procurement protocols. Developing an Indigenous Preference Policy that highlighted the local, provincial and national Indigenous employment labour pool, prioritizing Indigenous employment opportunities. Working with unionized and non-unionized subcontractors to increase diversity among the labour force contributing to the success of the construction of the Health Centre of Excellence.
In Alexandra’s capacity as a Senior Consultant and Operations Manager with Mokwateh, she has led several key initiatives and projects that focus on Indigenous Reconciliation with partners from diverse backgrounds. Alexandra draws on her personal lived experiences and has a deep understanding of Indigenous history, culture, and traditions to bear for her work, fostering meaningful engagement and collaboration with Indigenous communities.
Alexandra recently completed a Women’s Leadership course with the Yale School of Management Executive Education Program and dedicates a great deal of her time to supporting diversity inclusion, women, and gender-based violence through her role on several community-based boards and committees.
